Medical Detox Program Overview
Inclusion Criteria
- Individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
- Individuals must have a primary diagnosis of substance dependence.
- It must be medically appropropriate for the individual to completely stop using their substance of choice.
- Individuals must have a valid passport for traveling.
Assessment
The client will be assessed via phone or an online platform. Appropriate clients will be notified immediately of approval and assisted with their admission arrangements. Clients can arrive any day or time of the week to begin their treatment.
Schedule
Each client’s schedule is individualized to pair with their medical stability. Medically supervised detox clients are also encouraged to engage in all activities available once medically feasible to do so.

- Immediate nursing evaluated by the Nurse upon admissions.
- Documented medical evaluation within 24 hours of admission which includes a physical examination, orders for appropriate medical services/medications and face-to-face consultation.
- Comprehensive assessment of the client’s psychological conditions and social situation
- Telemedicine consultation with a specialist addiction psychiatrist.
- Pharmacologically assisted through acute intoxication and withdrawal to the attainment of medically stability.

Who is the program for?

What is the treatment like?
All clients are stabilized by utilizing medical and psychosocial processes of assisting the client through acute intoxication and withdrawal to the attainment of a medically stable, fully supported, substance-free state. This is achieved by administering medications used for the treatment of withdrawal symptoms, based on the substance and/or substances abused.
How will this treatment help?
Detoxification programs rid the body of mood altering substances and jump start the individual’s recovery. The client is discharged with a continuing care plan to support ongoing recovery.
How long is the program?
The program requires a minimum of 7 days stay up to a maximum of 10 days, as the detoxification process for some substances, such as opioids, can be more challenging medically.
